Mary Lippert was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in the southwest suburbs. Mary began drawing at a young age to keep her mind busy and her demeanor patient. Mary continued art into college and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art  in Drawing and Painting at Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach, CA.

 

As a representational figurative artist, she is intrigued by people and how they present themselves authentically and inauthentically. Using traditional skills in a contemporary style, Mary is currently most drawn to domestic scenes, and other scenes she can relate to. Aside from California, Mary has traveled to France, Netherlands, and Spain to study art and has a general affection to all places, from the extremes of big cities to the grace of beach towns.
